Orchids sheds light on the secrecy surrounding intersex
A very interesting article on the conflict between Intersex activist and the Transgender community. Which is at odds with each other and sometimes at war with each other. The key issue in the article is always about the medicalization of any “gender” and any child when it comes to intersex kids.
From The Article:
The demands by intersex activists that children should not be forced by the administration of surgery or hormones to fit into a sex category, is diametrically at odds with the developing practice in western medicine of transgendering children diagnosed with gender dysphoria through the administration of puberty blockers as early as 10 years old.
The concept and practice of transgenderism is founded in a profound belief in innate gender difference, a belief that the experience of intersex persons often contradicts.
What’s interesting about the article as well, is that some transgender people like to pretend and think that they have an intersex condition and pretend to pass themselves off as an intersex person. When in reality they are “intersex wannabes” and faking it. Here’s a clear example from the article:
Children and adults with an intersex condition are very different from what are commonly called “transgenders”. There is nothing unusual about the chromosomes of persons who are transgendered, though sometimes transgender activists deliberately describe themselves as intersex. They may wish to suggest that their condition is biological rather than about the pursuit of bodily changes to fit more closely with their ideas about the “gender” they want to represent.
The problem with this is that transgender activist have pissed off and offended so many intersex activist and intersex people, by deliberately pretending and trying to pass themselves off as an intersex person. They try to garner sympathy from the public by pretending to claim that their condition has a biological cause and that they think they can pass themselves off as intersex people.
It’s an interesting article and sometimes to read. Here’s the link:

It’s no party being born intersex
What I find so amazing and so shocking is the growing number of gender queer and trans people who like to think that they are intersex and like to proclaim on the internet that they are intersex without ever being schooled or educated on what it ACTUALLY means to be born intersex and being born with an Intersex condition. Some think that it’s a label they can readily have without fully knowing the implications or even the actual meaning of being born intersex. Some even think and believe it’s a sexual orientation or gender identity. Some don’t even have the basic High school or college level Anatomy & Physiology, Principles of Genetics or even general psychology background to understand the why’s and implications of labeling themselves intersex without being actually born intersex.
What a lot of transgender people and gender queer people don’t realize is that it’s no party being born intersex or wanting & wishing to be intersex. They all think it’s fun and easy being intersex and thinking that they can label themselves as an intersex person, but don’t realize how difficult it is to being born with an intersex condition and what it really means to being born with an intersex condition. People don’t realize that being born intersex has medical implications that can affect your socially, medically and mentally. Being born intersex is not easy as everyone likes to believe and assume. You have health issues including reproductive issues that affect you for the rest of your life. You have problems that plague you and affect you as a person and a human being. These problems actually hinder you and not give you a leg up that some people like to think and assume. On top of that you taking HRT and hormone replacement for the rest of your biological life. Including the fact that your subjected to to being like a lab rat when you are seen by doctors. Even your right to choose what you want in terms of intersex care, is taken away from you and put in the hands of doctors and possibly people who are not experts in the condition. As far as being able to reproduce, being born intersex knocks you out of any chance of ever fathering or conceiving a child naturally.
I have even seen some within the transgender community who pretend and claim to be intersex in order to get SRS. They will go around online claiming to be both Intersex an trans and going around claiming to be both without ever reading the actual guidelines or medical requirements. These people think that by claiming to be intersex, that some doctor will give them SRS, when in REALITY, It ain’t going to happen and vast majority of doctors do test people for intersex conditions. When doctors discover that your actually intersex, the chances of any intersex getting SRS is slim to no chance at all. Even within the trans or gender queer community, some think that being intersex amount to them being a gender identity or sexual orientation. They think that anyone can be intersex without ever being born one or having the DNA or the biological make-up of an intersex person. They think that anyone can choose to be intersex without thinking about the implications of their choice. The reality is that, Intersex is not a gender identity or a sexual orientation. It’s a medical condition that encompasses a host of conditions such as Klinefeltners Syndrome, Kallmann’s syndrome, Androgen Insensitivity syndrome and Turners Syndrome. It’s not a label that anyone can choose and it’s not something that anyone can get. It’s something that you have to be born with and diagnosed by a qualified medical doctor. The problem with the trans community, is that they tend to use the intersex name as an excuse or reason to throw at people for being trans. It’s as if being intersex is real and legitimate to them and thinking that they can say their trans because of this and that. Without thinking of the reality and implications of what they are doing and why they are using the intersex name.
It’s why I often wonder who in their right mind would like to claim to be intersex anyway. Why would anyone in their right mind would want to be intersex and claim to be one. It boggles my mind as to why would any trans or gender queer would think that they can be intersex or think that intersex is a sexual identity or gender label. It just makes you wonder why would anyone who wants to be intersex think that it’s a party and something they can be. Have they thought this through and think really long and hard as to why. I have seen people claim it and profess that they are without any proof of diagnosis or claim.
For me, as an intersex person and someone with Kallmann’s syndrome, it sure ain’t no party that people think and assume. It’s not all fun and games with being born intersex and it sure has a major life impact on my heath and well-being as well. For one being born intersex means, your sterile from birth to death. You can’t even conceive or bear children. You reproductive anatomy is all messed up to the point of having little to none at all. Your dependent upon hormone replacement for the rest of your life. As far as having any sense of gender, you don’t get to have one and by all medical and scientific rights, your classed as a biological indeterminate gender. Even your health get’s affected and ruins things that people can only imagine
So for me, it makes me wonder who in the right mind would want to claim to be intersex and be intersex. When coming from a real biological born intersex person such as myself. It ain’t no party and it ain’t all fun and games being born intersex. It’s hard and at times very difficult to deal with and manage with at times. It’s no easy being born intersex and I wouldn’t even wish it on my worst enemy cause it’s tough enough being born with an intersex condition and trying to be as a normal human being as possible. So if anyone thinks that it’s easy and fun being intersex, think twice and long hard because being born intersex is no fun and no party for anyone.
